Sabah hopes to attract Japanese tourist in the future

【Kota Kinabalu】State Assistant, Minister Joniston Bangkuai of Sabah's Tourism, Culture, and Environment expressed his desire to attract Japanese tourists to Malaysia as these two countries have similarities in sustainable and eco tourism.
Joniston told the press conference after a lunch meeting with Mr Kiyoshi Fujita, JTB Malaysia's representative, that he believes that Sabah will be a popular travel destination among Japanese for its lush greenary and nature. Sabah Tourism Board (STB) stated that it is regularly co-operating with Japanese partners in promoting tourism in Sabah. He express anticipation in welcoming Japanese tourists when the borders reopen next year.
Mr. Fujita visited Kota Kinabalu on a four-day business trip. He visited markets, parks, hot springs, and other tourist attraction spots. Mr. Fujita commented that Sabah offers a lot of tourist attraction spots that will be attractive to Japanese. He also adds onto the importance of compliance with the standard operating procedures (SOP)s in the tourism industry, which the Japanese government places importances in.
