Former Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe, visit Malaysia as a government special envoy

【Putrajaya=Malaysia BIZ Navi】 Former Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe visits Malaysia on March 10th, 2022 as Prime Minister Fumio Kishida's special envoy in celebration of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of domestic relations between Japan and Malaysia and the 40th anniversary of "Look East Policy (LEP)".
On the 11th, Former Prime Minsiter Shinzo Abe met with King Abdullah. After that, He met with Ismail Sabri Yaakob for dinner and handed over Prime Minister Kishida's personal letter, whilst discussing and exchanging views matters related to both regionally and internationally affairs, between both countries.
On the 12th, he delivered a speech at International Islam University Malaysia's opening ceremony in commemoration of the 40th anniversary of the Look East Policy where he reviewed the past achievements of the said policy and discussed on the policy's future. He also addressed the bilateral relationship of both countries, and issues relating to the regionally and internationally. He was awarded an honorary doctorate in Political Economy from IIUM.
Other than that, former primer minister Shinzo Abe also met with senior minister Azmin Ali (Minister of trade and industry), had a luncheon with IIUM officials, exchanged opions with former Japanese students, economists, and Japanese busineses, visiting local Japanese businesses, and offered flowers at the Kuala Lumpur Japanese cemetry.
